Oh, I Love Tagaytay

So who wouldn't fall in love with Tagaytay?

Hundreds of blog entries have described Tagaytay's almost year-round cool weather, magnificent view of scenic Taal volcano, coffee and coconut plantations, unique coffee shops and night life, and lovely dwellings and enclaves.

I won't really dwell on those in general but try to be as specific in describing Tagaytay as a place to experience and live in.

As of this writing, I still have to buy that piece of land to claim a stake in Tagaytay. Though I have a timeshare in Sunrise Hotel which my family has been using for 7 years, it still doesn't come close to experiencing tagaytay to the fullest. For now, I can't complain.

First, Tagaytay City, by its city limits going up from the Sta. Rosa road, starts at Silang in Cavite and ends right after The Residence Inn. So the next town is Alfonso, which is also considered to be part of my personal definition of Tagaytay.

We have spent 2 Christmases in Tagaytay and have experienced solemn celebrations each time. It didn't really matter if we lived in the Alfonso side of Tagaytay. We just usually drive back to the church on the Tagaytay side. Never mind the traffic on some weekends and holidays. It still worth the trip.

Dinner would usually follow at the nearby restos of Max's, Taalena's, Dencio's, or even at Mile High. If you could wait in-line and find a seat, coffee at Starbucks near Pancake House would be enjoyable.

I also enjoy going to market at Molave and buy a half-kilo of fresh lettuce for only PhP 50.00 and have some coffee beans (Robusta or Barako) freshly ground.

After soaking up the experience, going back home via Sta. Rosa takes us to Rowena's for some of those yummy tarts (strawberry, blueberry, chocolate mousse, or buko), shing-a-ling, espasol, and tawilis.

Last weekend, we took a stop at Nuvali in Sta. Rosa and had dinner at the newly-opened Pigout resto. It was a cool place with "evo-living" as its tagline. Looks like Silicon Valley in the making.

Next time, I'm hoping to be able to report of finding a property to buy. Fingers-crossed.
